คณะเทคโนโลยีสื่อสารมวลชนมีรากฐานมาจากการจัดการศึกษาในสาขาวิชาการโฆษณาระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูง (ปวส.) มาตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2515 ที่วิทยาเขตพณิชยการพระนครเดิม โดยได้ผลิตบุคลากรนักปฏิบัติงานเข้าสู่วิชาชีพสื่อสารมวลชน ในด้านต่างๆ เช่น Production House ช่างภาพ ตากล้อง บริษัทออร์แกนไนซ์ นักจัดรายการวิทยุ นักโฆษณาฯลฯ จนมาถึงในปี 2546 เพื่อสนองต่อความต้องการของสังคม จึงได้ขยายการจัดการศึกษา จากระดับ ปวส. เป็นระดับปริญญาตรี คือ คณะเทคโนโลยีสื่อสารมวลชน โดยมุ่งผลิตบัณฑิตนักปฏิบัติการด้านสื่อสารมวลชนที่มีจุดเน้นคือมีความเชี่ยวชาญด้านเทคโนโลยีจากรากฐานที่เข้มแข็งที่มีความเป็นมาอันยาวนานและประกอบกับบุคลากรทางการสอนที่มีประสบการณ์มีความชำนาญด้านการสอน ทำให้บัณฑิตจากคณะเทคโนโลยีสื่อสารมวลชนเป็นที่ยอมรับในวงการวิชาชีพอย่างกว้างขวาง

Faculty of Mass communication technology has roots in academic education in advanced diploma level (advertising) since 1972 at the Bangkok Commercial Campus. Many practitioners have been trained to work in professional media field such as Photographer, Production House, Organizer Company, DJ Radio, Advertising and etc. Until the year 2003 in order to meet the needs of society and industry. The field of education has expanded from diploma degree to High-level degree in Faculty of Mass Communication Technology which aims to produce high quality graduates in mass communication fields with a focus in technological expertise of the strong foundation and combined with experienced teaching staffs. These factors make the graduates from the Faculty of Mass Communication Technology is an extensively recognized in professional mass communication industry. RMUTP, The faculty of Mass Communication Technology aims to produce graduates in mass communication fields that have good quality and superior. Moreover the graduates need to have creativity, corporate social responsibility, integrity, ethics and creativity.
